Hi, I am Garrett Becker.
I grew up on a farm near McHenry, North Dakota, the kind of place where you learn to notice things. Good light. A genuine laugh. The way a field looks just before a storm rolls in.
Photography found me early. My dad had a Pentax K1000 film camera, and I was fascinated by it long before I really understood what it did. 4-H gave me a reason to start shooting seriously, and two years of photography coursework in college helped me understand what I was doing technically. But the love of it was always there before any of that.
Today, I run a small studio in Maddock. I specialize in senior portraits, family sessions, and newborn photography, whether that's in the studio, out in the open, at your place, or wherever feels right. Most sessions are outdoors when the weather cooperates, because that's where the best light is, and honestly, where most people feel most like themselves.
We have three kids of our own, so I get it, wrangling a family for photos is not always a smooth operation. I'm patient, I'm not precious about things going perfectly, and I genuinely love what I do.
If you're anywhere in central North Dakota, including Maddock, Rugby, Harvey, Carrington, Devils Lake, or the towns in between, I'd love to work with you.
